Ala Moana Beach Park

1201 Ala Moana Blvd

Overview

Just across the street from Ward Village is one of the most desirable parks in the state—an expansive area for relaxation and recreation. The 100-acres of park includes more than a half-mile of sandy shoreline. Along the beach, there’s a sidewalk perfect for walking, jogging and biking. Picnic sites and tennis courts beckon you to spend time with loved ones and friends. Protected by a coral reef, the calm water is great for children, for long-distance swimming and stand up paddle boarding. Plus, just outside the reef are surf breaks for wave-riders of varying levels (check the waves on our South Shore Surf Cam before paddling out). The grassy areas are brimming with banyan and palm trees, which provide plenty of shady spots to bask in the islands’ signature trade winds.
