Redefining Retail at South Shore Market

Ward Village's South Shore Market offers a shopping and dining experience unlike anything else you'll find in the city.

Composed of 18 merchants, South Shore Market will embody and kindle Honolulu's creative scene, all the while providing local merchants, entrepreneurs, creatives, and shoppers alike a gathering place that's reflective of their passions and taste.

We're so excited to debut South Shore Market to Honolulu. It's truly a unique retail and dining experience that highlights local merchants. To create South Shore Market, we've taken inspiration from bespoke destinations like Venice's Abbot Kinney, the Brentwood Country Mart, Chelsea Market in New York, and Melrose to name just a few. All of our merchants are extremely passionate about their brand and every vendor understands the true nuances that go into creating their own inspired shopping and dining experience. Each merchant has a genuine story behind their business, an intangible essence that can't be explained, but only felt as you experience the market.

For Jamie Makasobe, who along with her business partners founded the locally owned apparel line Kealopiko, South Shore Market represents an inspiring space to showcase their line of aloha-inspired attire to a new audience. "We love that South Shore Market curates a shopping experience and venue filled with Hawaii-owned businesses and creators. We look forward to providing a space that feel and identifies as being authentic to Hawaii for both locals and visitors."

In addition to locally owned and operated businesses like Salvage Public, South Shore Market will also be home to iconic stores like MORI by Art + Flea and Lucy's Lab Creamery, a delectable ice cream shop offering up a unique approach to the frozen treat. Other business include Kealopiko, a local brand creating modern aloha wear and Holoholo Market, a new grocery concept from Foodland.

"We love the neighborhood here," says Julia Chu, who owns La Muse, a women's clothing boutique with a storefront in Chinatown. Her new store in South Shore Market will mark the brand's second location. "Between our first store and this new space, we're really excited about the future of La Muse. Our new store at South Shore Market is going to be a little different. It's going to feature more apparel from Europe, some fine jewelry, and some amazing shoes. It's a great community here and we're really happy to be a part of South Shore Market."
