Everything You Need, Is Right Here
A Whole Foods Market within Arm's Reach
Located on the ground floor of Ae'o, you'll soon find Hawai'i's flagship Whole Foods Market. In what will surely become a hub for the city, construction on the project kicked off last month. When completed, this Whole Foods Market will not only serve this rapidly changing slice of the city, but also help support local farmers by stocking an array of Hawai'i-grown organic produce. Perhaps best of all, no matter where you call home at Ward Village, you'll be able to walk to the market and won't have to hassle with fighting traffic and finding parking. Although it may sound simple, when you can walk to the grocery store, you're strengthening your neighborhood. According to the website Walkable.org, when residents are on foot and interacting with their neighbors, good things— like better social interaction, increased physical fitness, and awareness of neighborhood developments—always follow.

Walk to the Beach
Surfing in Hawai'i is truly a part of everyday life. It's interwoven into our cultural heritage and is part of who we are. Every morning, at the crack of dawn, surfers from all walks of life—from doctors to lawyers to police officers to students—line up in droves to get a few waves in before the start of the workday. And while so many of us are forced to drive and deal with the headache of finding parking, when you call Ward Village home, you can simply walk across the street and take your pick from a handful of world-class waves, including Ala Moana Bowls, Big Rights, and Kewalo Basin.
Commuting to Work Couldn't Be Easier
It's no secret that Honolulu is home to some of the worst traffic in the country and some of our residents are forced to endure mind-numbing commutes to get to and from the workplace. However, if you're working in the downtown business district or Waikiki, your commute is a cinch. Feeling like leaving the car at home today? It takes less than 15 minutes to bike into the heart of downtown or to the edge of Waikiki. Bloomberg media published an alarming study that found that cars are used for more than 75 percent of trips under one mile in the US, adding to pollution and traffic congestion problems. But that doesn't have to be the case. When you commute on bike to work from Ward Village, you can easily avoid traffic, help the environment, and burn off a few calories before your 10 am meeting. And if your business is centered in Kapolei or Ewa Beach, you'll find a forthcoming convenient rail stop (all trains will be equipped with WIFI so you can catch up on email on your commute) located adjacent to the Ke Kilohana residential tower.

Shop, Eat, and Play at a Moment's Notice
Amid all of the construction on Ward Village's residential towers, great plans are underway to transform the way Village residents shop, eat, and play. Looking for the perfect poke bowl following a day spent at the beach? We've got you covered. How about a romantic meal with your special someone? We know just the place, and it's right around the corner. No matter how you shop, eat, or play, you'll find it all right here.

Parks Aplenty
All great cities place an emphasis on offering their residents ample green space to relax and exercise. Here at Ward Village, you'll find a vast selection of both small and large parks at your disposal. Not only is Ala Moana Beach Park located directly across the street, but you'll also find charming slices of green space scattered throughout the Village, complete with people doing yoga at sunset, and an array of dog-friendly parks. Plus, we haven't even mentioned the crown jewel of parks in the neighborhood: the extensive Central Plaza, which will serve as an artery for this rapidly growing neighborhood. Parks serve communities as hubs and gathering places to picnic, exercise, and mingle. Research has shown that parks literally improve public health. At Ward Village, it's clear that convenience and easy access to parks, shops, and beaches are at the cornerstone of what makes this such an exciting place to live and work. Enjoying life in paradise has never been easier.
