Welcome to the Perfect Date Night at Ward Village
As the owners of Eden In Love, a charming home accessories, apparel, and gift boutique located in South Shore Market, Tanna and Bryson Dang keep a busy schedule to say the least.
Not only are they fully devoted to their growing business, but they're also completely devoted to one another and always make time for date night. Below, Tanna walks us through her perfect date—it's equally awesome on Valentine's Day or a standard Friday night—and breaks down what makes Ward Village such a great place for couples to get together.
Start With the Sweet Stuff
After finishing up some last-minute work at the shop, Tanna and Bryson head to Ward Centre to kick-start their date with one of their favorite treats: gourmet chocolate from Honolulu Chocolate Company. "We love this spot. They have so many different flavors and their holiday specials are always a lot of fun. On this night, because we were on our date, we opted for heart-shaped chocolates—in milk, dark, and white—that were absolutely delicious," says Tanna with a laugh. "After all, who doesn't want to start a date off with some chocolate?"
Catch a Movie in Pure Comfort
After they enjoyed their chocolate treats, Tanna and Bryson moved their way up Auahi Street toward the newly revamped Consolidated Theatres at Ward to catch a movie they'd both heard rave reviews about. "I can't get over how impressive the upgrades are at the theatre. With the new chairs, it feels like I'm at home in my living room," says Tanna. "And the fact that you can reserve your seats now online and go straight in makes it that much easier. Catching a movie together is one of our favorite things to do."
Who doesn't love Buca di Beppo? Whether you're celebrating with extended family or looking to cozy up with your sweetheart, this heart-warming Italian fare never disappoints. Just ask Tanna. "For dinner, we chose to sit outside and went old school with our meal and ordered spaghetti and meatballs. We definitely had some Lady and the Tramp vibes going on. It was a perfect post-movie meal."
Take a Stroll Through the Neighborhood
Stuffed, happy, and in love, Tanna and Bryson decide to grab an after-dinner coffee before taking a brief stroll through Ward Village, marveling at all of the new developments underfoot. "After we finished dinner, Bryson and I grabbed a coffee at Mocha Java," recalls Tanna. "There's something really magical about strolling down the sidewalk at night with the love of your life next to you and a warm coffee in your hand. As business owners, we love being a part of the community, but it's really refreshing to get outside and see Ward Village from a new perspective. There's really so much to offer—especially if you're heading out on a date."
