Mori Live Sessions are back for another night of showcasing local musicians and artists, including Close the Distance and The Common Dandies!

Close the Distance formerly known as EMKE was formed in 2004 in Honolulu, Hawaii by an unlikely group of friends. Bound together by their mutual love for rock music, EMKE started out as a classic rock cover band but later morphed into a melodic alternative rock group.

Hailing from Orange County California, The Common Dandies bring their signature blend of soothing sounds, liberal noises, and melodic disharmony.

This month, we are lucky to have the band Ragamuffs, a solo set by Brent Vida of Feeble, and writer/poet Nora Pollard.

Ragamuffs are a quirky pair of goons made up of Hailey Fines and Joseph Carag. You can catch them jamming sounds that sit right under the indie umbrella mixed with folk, rock, and soul along with Chunky Abella on bass and Luke Tamayo on drums.

Brent Vida is a 21 year old singer-songwriter who usually plays bass in his band Feeble, but will be doing a special acoustic set for March's live session! His songs are upbeat, hard-hitting, and full of energy; very indicative off the DIY emo pop-punk mentality.

Nora Pollard is a 23 year old gay trans woman living in the U.S. colonized islands of Hawai'i. Her poems are mostly about plants or kissing or something. She loves her friends, her dog, and everything else too. She will be reading from her latest poetry zine, Hey, Is This Your Dog? and will have copies available for purchase!
