Hawaiʻi’s largest indoor playground to open at Ward Village®

PRESS CONTACTS

HONOLULU (Dec. 11, 2020) – Ward Village®, a 60-acre master-planned community by The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC), will welcome Kids City Adventure to the neighborhood. A premium, safe and clean indoor playground concept, Kids City Adventure will occupy the former Bed, Bath & Beyond space at Ward Centre and offer over 30,000 square feet of interactive activities for keiki to create, learn and play.

“Kids City Adventure is an exciting addition to the Ward Village community, especially as we welcome more families to our growing neighborhood,” said Francis Cofran, Vice President of Operations at Ward Village. “We are continuously looking for new ways to meet our community’s needs, including providing a safe recreational space, like Kids City, for children to enjoy.”

Scheduled to open in Spring 2021, Kids City Adventure will be the second location on O‘ahu. The two-story playground, designed for children ages seven months to 13 years old, will house a giant ball pool with an interactive projection screen, a bumper car racetrack, augmented reality (AR) video games, pretend play areas and a sensory play area, among many other activities.

Parents can join in on the fun with their children or watch from a centrally located seating area. Complimentary Wi-Fi also makes it easy for adults to stay connected on the go while the children safely play.

“We know parents want to give their children the best, and our new space at Ward Village will meet that standard,” said Mindy Hamasaki, general manager, Kids City. “Kids City Adventure provides a modern, safe, upscale environment where parents feel safe while their children have fun.”

Health and safety is the top priority for Kids City. Kids City employees clean all equipment and toys with natural and chemical-free products, install HEPA filtered air purifiers and hand sanitizing stations throughout the space and use UV sterilizers to sanitize the ball pools and toys daily. Throughout the day, staff members will continuously clean toys and equipment to provide a safe haven for parents and children. Consistent with Hawaiʻi State guidelines, all staff, adults and children five years and older will be required to wear masks. Kids City employees will conduct temperature checks and a health screening prior to entry.
