Victoria Place Approved by HCDA As Newest Tower at Ward Village®
Front-Row Residence Showcases Classic Kama’aina Living
HONOLULU – The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC) announced today that Ward Village® received approval from the Hawaiʻi Community Development Authority (HCDA) for the development of Victoria Place, the newest residential tower in the 60-acre master-planned community named “Best Planned Community in the U.S.” by Architectural Digest.
“Victoria Place is poised to be one of the most extraordinary residential towers along the front row of Oʻahu’s south shore, with a stunning design that is reminiscent of a timeless Hawaiʻi,” said Simon Treacy, President, Hawaiʻi, at The Howard Hughes Corporation. “We thank HCDA for their continued partnership and look forward to advancing the next phase of our development to build a community that embodies wellness, connectivity and vibrant placemaking.”
Named in tribute to Victoria Ward, the visionary steward who first transitioned Kakaʻako into a community gathering place over a century ago, Victoria Place will feature 350 new homes with sweeping mountain, ocean and Diamond Head views that will elevate modern living to new heights. As part of the project’s development, Victoria Ward Park will increase to serve as a passive, nature-focused oasis resonant of the original Ward estate.
World-renowned landscape architect Don Vita has signed on to develop the grounds for both Victoria Place and Victoria Ward Park. “Victoria Ward Park will be set in a lush landscape shaded by dappled light cast by stately coconut groves and scented by tropical gardens offering a respite from urban life,” said Don Vita, Founder of VITA Planning and Landscape Design.
Victoria Place marks The Howard Hughes Corporation’s seventh residential tower in Ward Village. The new residence and expansion of Victoria Ward Park will add more open green space and public amenities to the neighborhood, enhancing wellness and connectivity for visitors and residents. Sales for Victoria Place are anticipated to launch end of year.
As the first LEED-ND Platinum-certified master plan development in the country and the only one in Hawaiʻi, Ward Village is at the forefront of sustainable community development and will feature public amenities at a scale not offered by any other urban development in the state.
