Kōʻula Art Installation by Arik Levy
1000 Auahi Street
Overview
France-based artist Arik Levy has gained world renown for his iconic “Rock Series,” and, as a surfer, garners much inspiration from Hawaiʻi’s geological structures. Named after the dormant volcano Mauna, his latest sculpture, Mauna Vortex, which is currently located at Kōʻula, allows viewers to see an inverted reflection of nature and people, creating a unique multidimensional experience. Throughout this piece, you will find the artist playing with notions of balance and stability, gravity and weightlessness.
