Past And Future With Kaka‘ako Magazine
Hawaii Business Magazine's December issue included a special feature about Kaka‘ako, focusing on Ward Village.
The stories within it reflect the value of revering the past while defining the future. Here are a few of our favorites:
A neighborhood doesn't spring up from nowhere. Every place, beach, park, tower has a story. In this article, artist Solomon Enos and cultural practitioner Paulette Ka'anahiokalani Kaleikini, a direct descendent of the area, speak on the importance of respecting and honoring the culture and stories of those who aren't just in Kaka‘ako, but are of Kaka‘ako.
This story reflects on the shift from suburban sprawl to sustainable urban living allowing Hawaii to "keep the country country." We love when things are boiled down to simple, understandable numbers, and the graphics that accompany the story do so well, demonstrating the necessity for and economic benefit of the development.
Buying in Kaka‘ako
Real estate predictions—who can get enough? Especially when it's two thumbs up, as it is in the case of the Anaha and Waiea, our first two towers with a plethora of amenities both inside and out.
The Future of Kewalo Basin
Once an international hub utilized by royalty and commoners alike, Kewalo Basin Harbor has gone through many changes. The 35-year lease recently signed by Howard Hughes Corp. is the first step in the process of revitalizing this gem of O'ahu. We can't wait to see what's next!
