Four Reasons To Attend New Wave Friday
New Wave Friday is just around the corner and we couldn't be more excited. Held on the second Friday of every month at South Shore Market, the event has quickly become a destination for late-night shopping, delicious food, special sales, and an endless supply of good vibes. Not that you needed an excuse to swing by the city's most exciting late-night event, but we've gone ahead and drafted up four enticing reasons you should attend New Wave Friday at South Shore Market this Friday, August 11, beginning at 5 pm and running until 9 pm.
Shop The Hippest Local Brands
At South Shore Market, local businesses reign supreme. As more customers in Hawai'i opt to support the brands built by our local contemporaries, we're witnessing a new age of creative and progressive businesses taking root in the Islands. Whether you're looking to update your wardrobe with an authentic aloha shirt from Kealopiko or wanted to peruse an ever-evolving art collection at MORI for a new piece for your home, you'll find it all (and so much more) at New Wave Friday. Plus, there's just something special about mingling and shopping at night with your friends. And did we mention there will be cocktails and special sales?
Art For The Keiki
For our upcoming party, we're celebrating all things art with our family friendly collaboration with Art Explorium, a local organization dedicated to introducing Hawai'i's youth to the world of art and creativity. While the adults may be able to kick back, shop, and unwind after a long work week at New Wave Friday, the keiki can embrace their inner creative spirit by making art. "We're so excited to host our Earth-friendly arts and craft session at New Wave Friday," says Heather Williams, executive director for Art Explorium. "We'll be making sun-catchers and butterflies at the event. All you have to do is show up and create."
Mouth-Watering Food And Lip-Smacking Cocktails
What fun would a night out at New Wave Friday be without something delightful to snack on? Don't fret, because this Friday, we're bringing you a wealth of local food vendors sure to whet your appetite, including MODO by Watanabe Bakery. In case you haven't yet had the pleasure of devouring a mochi donut, you won't want to miss out as they're making their New Wave Friday debut and will be stocked with delectable flavors, including chocolate, matcha, and black sesame. If you're still hungry, make reservations or swing by the likes of Piggy Smalls, Nobu, Kaka'ako Kitchen, or any one of Ward Village's restaurants for a late-night meal. Plus, the crew from REAL will be slinging up specialty cocktails.
Live Music And A Special DJ Set
Like all great parties, New Wave Friday will include some foot-tapping beats, provided by Simple Souls. Known for their acoustic sets, the female duo is sure to bring the heat and keep the party going when they start playing.
There will also be a special guest appearance from
Plus, MORI will be hosting local hip-hop producer and DJ Scott
