People around the world have been drawn to this philosophy not only due to its effectiveness, but because it places a great importance on being mindful, introspective and forward-thinking. Come learn the importance of purposeful, clutter-free living and choosing joy!
About the KonMari Method
Marie Kondo is a tidying expert, bestselling author, star of Netflix's hit show, "Tidying Up With Marie Kondo," and founder of KonMari Media, Inc. Enchanted with organizing since her childhood, Marie began her tidying consultant business as a 19-year-old university student in Tokyo. Today, Marie is a renowned tidying expert helping people around the world to transform their cluttered homes into spaces of serenity and inspiration.
In her #1 New York Times bestselling book, "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up," Marie took tidying to a whole new level, teaching that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again.
Marie has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The London Times, Vogue, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, The Ellen Show as well as on more than fifty major Japanese television and radio programs. She has also been named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World. Most tidying methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.
The KonMari Method™ encourages tidying by category – not by location – beginning with clothes, then moving on to books, papers, komono (miscellaneous items), and, finally, sentimental items. Keep only those things that speak to the heart, and discard items that no longer spark joy. Thank them for their service – then let them go.
People around the world have been drawn to this philosophy not only due to its effectiveness, but also because it places great importance on being mindful, introspective and forward-looking.
About Caitlin Roberts: Founder and Master Certified KonMari Consultant & Speaker
Born and raised in Southern California, Caitlin Rose Roberts earned a B.A. in Mass Communications from UC Berkeley and an M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Woodbury University and began a corporate career in Operations and Human Resources. Work consumed her time, creating a fast-paced life that left her little room to breathe.
Her home, always her happy place, provided respite from Caitlin’s busy life; between the late nights and long hours, she longed to realign her priorities and find a way to spend more time enjoying it. After stressful days, Caitlin would lose herself in her Pinterest boards, dreaming of tidy rooms, organized closets and streamlined spaces. She discovered Marie Kondo and The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up on Pinterest and in 2016, Caitlin began training with Marie Kondo’s team in the art of KonMari. The KonMari process of “joy-checking” her personal items quickly began to infiltrate all aspects of her life, and Caitlin soon realized she was not just cleaning her home--she was creating space to live the life she wanted.
Inspired by the residual benefits of her tidy home and mind, Caitlin launched Minimize With Purpose in late 2016 to help others plagued by mental overwhelm and time poverty. In January 2019, Caitlin was named the second Master Certified KonMari Consultant & Speaker in the world (outside of Japan). Caitlin lives in Los Angeles, California with her husband Zach, daughter Olive, and fur baby Duncan and works with clients throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.
