About the event
The Pacific Plate is an exclusive pop-up dining event at Ward Village featuring four of the nation's top up-and-coming culinary stars. Ward Village Culinary Director Chris Kajioka will be leading the team to develop and prepare an exceptional six-course meal highlighting the flavors of the Pacific.
Our chefs will come together to offer a one-of-a kind dining experiences in an intimate setting at Scratch Kitchen and Meatery. This pop-up features limited sears and will only take place for one weekend to create an intimate and truly unforgettable dining experience.

Chris Kajioka, Senia, Honolulu Born and raised in Honolulu, this innovative chef trained at some of the nation’s finest restaurants, including New York’s Per Se and San Francisco’s Aziza, before finally returning home in 2012. Known most recently for opening Senia, Chef Kajioka combines contemporary French techniques with his Japanese heritage— and the result is something wholly original.
Mei Lin, Nightshade, LA This 2015 Top Chef winner came from humble beginnings. After immigrating to Michigan as a child, Chef Lin grew up working at her family’s small Chinese-food restaurant. She would later go on to train alongside chefs like Marcus Samuelsson in Chicago and Wolfgang Puck in Las Vegas, before opening her own restaurant. At Nightshade, Lin has become acclaimed for dishes like Mapo Tofu Lasagna and Dungeness Crab Congee.
Matt Lambert, The Musket Room, NYC (Michelin Star) Chef Lambert’s journey to culinary greatness began in New Zealand, where he apprenticed at his first restaurant as a 14 year old. After training and climbing the ranks of several Michelin-starred restaurants, Lambert eventually opened the Musket Room in New York and earned a Michelin star himself. His cuisine is inspired in part by his home country and a proclivity to take risks in order to push culinary boundaries.
Jon Yao, Kato Restaurant, LA (Michelin Star) Self-trained, Michelin-starred Chef Yao opened Kato in 2016, a tasting-menu restaurant focused on Japanese and Taiwanese cuisine. At just 27 years old, this rising star’s already impressive resume continues to grow. Next, Yao plans to develop his own take on the fine dining experience in a much larger space.
