Honolulu Hosts Michelin-Star Chefs for One-of-a-Kind Dining Experience this Weekend November 8 & 9

Tickets to The Pacific Plate sold out in under 24 hours.

HONOLULU – November 8, 2019 – Ward Village® announced today its dining pop-up, The Pacific Plate, has sold out in less than 24 hours. Led by Ward Village Resident Chef, Chris Kajioka, the master-planned community is hosting three of the nation’s hottest culinary stars this weekend to spotlight the best regional flavors from across Hawaiʻi. The three-day event launched yesterday, November 7th, at Scratch Kitchen & Meatery at South Shore Market.

Award-winning chefs in Honolulu for the gourmet pop-up include Jon Yao of Kato, Los Angeles; Matt Lambert of The Musket Room, New York City; and Mei Lin of Nightshade, Los Angeles. In collaboration with Chef Kajioka, this all-star team joined together to create an exceptional, six-course meal.

“I’m ecstatic by the immediate and enthusiastic response The Pacific Plate has received in Honolulu,” said Chef Kajioka. “I’m inspired by the extraordinary talent of these young chefs and am glad to showcase their talent to the people of Hawaiʻi.”

Individual ticket prices were $150-$200 with wine pairings.

Jon Yao, Kato, Santa Monica:

Chef Yao has received Food & Wine Magazine’s “Best New Chef” award, was a James Beard “Rising Star” finalist, and most recently received a Michelin star for his Taiwanese restaurant Kato in Los Angeles.

Mei Lin, Nightshade, Los Angeles:

Winner of Top Chef, Season 12, Chef Mei Lin has worked with some of the most revered chefs in the nation. Lin’s acclaimed restaurant Nightshade features seasonal Chinese-American cuisine influenced by the diverse cultures of Los Angeles.
