Founder’s Day Celebration
Overview
Come celebrate Founder’s Day at Victoria Ward Park on Saturday, June 8th from 10am – 12pm! This annual event celebrates Ward Village’s founding visionary and steward Victoria Ward and will feature an array of nature based educational activities, including:
• Interactive butterfly experience and coloring station with Paradise Monarchs
• Education and planting activity with Pono Minds
• Lei-making station with Kīpuka by Nā Mea Hawaiʻi
• Art project with Trees for Honolulu’s Future
• Calligraphy on take-home seed paper by EV Calligraphy
• Learn from Hui Manu-o-Kū and Hawai‘i Audobon Society about Hawai‘i’s Birds including the White Tern Seabird
• Live music performances by emerging artist Tiara Gomes from 10am –11am and award-winning Hawaiian Slack Key musician Kawika Kahiapo from 11am – 12pm
• Walkable life-size flora & fauna display by Kaleipua Florals
• Mango Iced Tea and Strawberry Lemonade from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
Guests will receive a ticket to Foster Botanical Garden. Open to the public. All offerings are complimentary, while supplies last.
