Founded in 2023, Māla-Be is a local Hawaiian business specializing in Mediterranean-inspired vegan delights. Our signature offering is coconut-based māla-be, a plant-based, gluten-free twist on the traditional Mediterranean treat Muhalabiya. Light, creamy, and not overly sweet, topped with syrups such as roses, lilikoi, dates, lavender, guava and nuts such as pistachios and macadamia nuts. Māla-Be blends Mediterranean tradition with Hawaiian flavors for a unique, satisfying snack, breakfast, or treat experience.
We also offer classic halva, a sweet sesame-based confection topped with pistachios, alongside our house-made Mediterranean granola—a flavorful blend of nuts, crumbled halva, pistachios, and organic date syrup.
