Emerging Artists Honoka Katayama and Mālie Lyman

Ward Village Shops

Overview

Join us every Saturday in July for our Emerging Artist Pop-Up series at Victoria Ward Park! The lineup features Hawai‘i’s up-and-coming musicians, including talent from Haku Collective’s Artists to Watch program. This special outdoor activity is a great way to spend your Saturday afternoon, listening to the smooth sounds of local musicians, soaking up the sunshine and reveling in the trade winds.

About the Emerging Artists

Our pop up series comes to an end with talented females artists, Honoka Katayama and Mālie Lyman.

Honoka is a gifted ‘ukulele artist and singer-songwriter. She first gained worldwide attention as part of the duo Honoka & Azita, garnering millions of views on their YouTube videos. Her skills have taken her all across the world— playing in places like Czech Republic, Japan and more!

Mālie recently won third place in Mana Maoli’s Mele & Mo’olelo contest, in the Cover Song category, for her cover of “Sinatra” by Forrest Nolan. She is part of Haku Collective’s Haku Keiki and is featured vocally and on steel guitar on Papāhanaumokuākea on the Children of the Sea (Nā Kama Kai) album.
